Retro Helper Reliant Air Conditioning - 3.4 Irving, TX Job Details Full-time 1 hour ago Qualifications Customer communication Ladder use High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Position Summary The Retro Install Helper supports Lead Installers in the replacement and installation of residential HVAC systems, including air conditioners, furnaces, air handlers, ductwork, and related equipment. This role assists with job site preparation, equipment transport, installation support, cleanup, and maintaining a safe working environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning a skilled trade, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. The Retro Install Helper must be dependable, safety-focused, physically capable, and willing to learn HVAC installation best practices from experienced team members. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist Lead Installer with removal and replacement of residential HVAC equipment Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites Help install: Condensers Furnaces Evaporator coils Air handlers Ductwork and ventilation components Prepare job sites by protecting customer property and maintaining a clean workspace Assist with basic electrical, drainage, brazing, sealing, and duct modifications under supervision Pass tools and materials to installer as needed to improve job efficiency Maintain truck inventory and ensure tools are properly stored and secured Clean and organize work areas before leaving customer homes Ensure old equipment and debris are properly disposed of Follow all company safety protocols, including PPE requirements Communicate professionally with customers and team members Attend training and participate in skill development opportunities Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Prior construction, mechanical, warehouse, delivery, or HVAC experience preferred but not required Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment Strong work ethic and reliability Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Comfortable working in residential homes and around customers Must be punctual and dependable Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding role.
Employee must be able to:
Lift and carry 50-100 pounds with assistance when needed Frequently bend, kneel, squat, crawl, and climb ladders Work in: Attics Crawl spaces Roofs Tight/confined spaces Stand and walk for extended periods Perform repetitive pushing, pulling, lifting, and overhead reaching Tolerate exposure to dust, insulation, noise, and mechanical equipment Working Conditions Primarily works in residential customer homes and outdoor environments Regular exposure to Texas heat, cold, humidity, and changing weather conditions May work in extreme attic temperatures during summer months Schedule may include overtime, evenings, or Saturdays during peak season Licenses / Certifications Valid driver's license preferred Clean driving record preferred if operating company vehicles EPA certification is a plus, but not required Preferred Skills Mechanical aptitude Basic tool knowledge Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Desire to grow into Installer or Lead Installer role What Success Looks Like A successful
