Job Description

Valoa is in a unique position to establish itself as a leading authority in the Midwest when it comes to the solar customer experience. Overview The Electrician position is a critical member of a solar installation team and is responsible for working in partnership with the Solar Installers to complete residential solar installation projects. As Valoa continues to uphold a reputation for excellence, this position is best suited for someone passionate about work quality, field safety and prefers working on a team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Installing and maintaining the electrical equipment and wiring that connects the PV system to the electrical grid Installation of PV mounting systems and PV modules when necessary Ensure that all work performed complies with the current NEC code and workmanship Must be knowledgeable and comply with OSHA safety standards for the installation team Troubleshooting system problems and resolving electrical issues Train, mentor and develop apprentices Perform Main Panel upgrades
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRES
valid Sonnen, Duracell and Tesla battery certification. to be considered for the position. If you do not have these certifications, they must be acquired before onboarding. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation Experience installing photovoltaic systems preferred Experience with data communications and monitoring systems is preferred Experience with grid-tied and off-grid battery and/or generator backup systems is a plus Excellent customer service skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exercises a high level of professionalism and a positive demeanor Thrive in a team environment
REQUIRED SKILLS
Working knowledge and ability to interpret and apply the current NEC requirements to PV systems Experience reading and interpreting one-line drawings and electrical schematics Must have working knowledge and experience replacing residential and commercial electrical services and distribution panels Must be able to work with high voltage systems 600Vdc to 1500Vdc Must be able to work with services 240Vac, 208Vac, and 480Vac in single and three phase systems (and other variations) Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces)
