Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse electrical projects across residential and commercial settings, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant electrical systems. As a key contributor, you will leverage your extensive electrical expertise to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair complex electrical systems while adhering to all safety standards and building codes. Your energetic approach and technical proficiency will drive project success and contribute to the safety and reliability of our electrical infrastructure. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial electrical systems in accordance with electrical blueprints, schematics, and building codes. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute installation and repair tasks. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters, ammeters, and multimeters to identify faults and determine solutions efficiently. Maintain compliance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards, NEC regulations, and electrical safety procedures during all work activities. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely on construction sites or within existing facilities while following strict safety protocols. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance projects effectively. Troubleshoot complex electrical issues in commercial or industrial environments through systematic analysis of schematics and operational data. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation. Support the installation of low voltage systems such as alarms or communication wiring when required for project scope. Skills Proven experience as an residential electrician with a strong background in commercial electrical systems. Expertise in electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting techniques, and system repairs using appropriate testing instruments like ohmmeters and ammeters. Solid understanding of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC regulations, and electrical building codes to ensure all work is compliant. Skilled in high-voltage electrical wiring, motor control equipment maintenance, and industrial motor repair. Ability to read complex electrical blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals accurately. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation system troubleshooting and programming is highly desirable. Knowledge of low voltage systems including security alarms or communication wiring is a plus. Strong familiarity with construction site procedures, safety protocols, frame carpentry basics for conduit supports or structural adjustments as needed. Proficient in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers; power tools including drills; testing devices like voltmeters; and construction equipment safely. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to safety compliance in fast-paced environments.
