An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

The hourly wage range for this position is $35.00 - $70.00•The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
