Job Overview The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within a structural steel manufacturing environment. This role supports production operations by maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems that power robotic welding cells, CNC cutting equipment, overhead/gantry cranes, conveyors, blast systems, and paint/coating lines, ensuring equipment operates safely, reliably, and with minimal unplanned downtime. The position works closely with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to support structural steel fabrication, welding operations, material movement, and finishing processes, while contributing to continuous improvement efforts focused on equipment reliability, process efficiency, and reduction of production interruptions. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems supporting structural steel fabrication, welding, material handling, and paint/coating operations Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues related to robotic welding systems, CNC equipment, conveyors, overhead/gantry cranes, and automated production lines Maintain and repair industrial control panels, motor control centers (MCCs), PLCs, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize production downtime Support electrical needs for cutting equipment (plasma/laser), press brakes, blast systems, and coating systems Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals Install and maintain conduit, wiring, panels, sensors, and control devices in a heavy industrial environment Assist with installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment, robotics, and automation systems Work with engineering and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and production efficiency Troubleshoot issues related to crane systems and material movement equipment, ensuring safe and continuous operation Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and system modifications Support troubleshooting across shifts to minimize disruption to fabrication and shipping schedules Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of industrial electrical experience, preferably in structural steel, fabrication, or heavy manufacturing environments

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's Degree or equivalent amount of experience preferred. Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, robotics interfaces, sensors, automation, and motor control systems Familiarity with robotic welding systems and automated production equipment Understanding of overhead/gantry crane electrical systems and controls Knowledge of motor control centers (MCCs), power distribution systems, and industrial wiring practices Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and automation issues under production pressure Familiarity with steel fabrication processes and associated equipment a plus Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and equipment documentation Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on minimizing downtime and maintaining production flow Ability to work independently and respond effectively in urgent or time-sensitive situations Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve electrical and automation issues in a production environment Effective communication and teamwork skills across maintenance, production, and engineering teams.

Pay:

$32.00 - $34.00 per hour
