Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across several residential and commercial renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC). This position offers opportunity to work at three different construction sites, interpret blueprints and schematics, and utilize a wide range of hand and power tools to deliver high-quality electrical solutions. Hourly rate is dependent on applicants experience and skills. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment on construction sites and renovation projects. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute precise electrical installations. Use hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, and specialized power tools to complete tasks efficiently. Work with low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and high voltage components to support industrial automation needs. Conduct testing using tools like ohmmeters to ensure proper circuit functionality and safety compliance. Assist in framing carpentry tasks related to electrical enclosures or conduit supports as needed. Follow all safety protocols including NEC standards and local regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others. Requirements Valid journeyman electrician license or certification demonstrating comprehensive electrical knowledge. Proven experience in industrial electrician work as well as commercial electrical installations. Strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams related to electrical systems. Hands-on experience with low voltage wiring, high voltage systems, and troubleshooting using test instruments such as ohmmeters. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automation processes. Ability to work on construction sites involving renovation projects with exposure to various environments. Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools necessary for electrical installation and repair tasks. Knowledge of NEC standards for safe electrical practices and code compliance. Experience reading schematics and performing framing carpentry or handyman tasks related to electrical work is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
