This position is responsible for installing generators, fuel tanks, fuel systems, and related components into custom horse trailer living quarters. The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and is committed to producing safe, reliable installations that meet company standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Install generators, fuel tanks, fuel lines, exhaust systems, and mounting components in custom horse trailers.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and installation diagrams.
Measure, cut, fit, and secure components for proper installation.
Install and connect fuel systems according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
Mount generators and ensure proper ventilation, cooling, and exhaust routing.
Perform electrical connections related to generator installations.
Pressure test and inspect fuel systems for leaks and proper operation.
Troubleshoot installation issues and make necessary adjustments.
Operate hand tools, power tools, drills, grinders, and other shop equipment safely.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Collaborate with electrical, plumbing, and finishing departments to ensure timely completion of projects.
Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Perform quality control inspections before units move to the next production stage.
Assist with other production duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience with mechanical assembly, RV, trailer, marine, automotive, or manufacturing industries is preferred.
Knowledge of fuel systems, generators, or electrical systems is a plus.
Ability to read measuring devices and installation drawings.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Dependable with excellent attendance and a strong work ethic. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and reaching.
Ability to work in confined spaces inside trailers.
Comfortable using power tools and shop equipment.
Ability to work in varying shop temperatures. Work Environment Manufacturing and production facility.
Exposure to noise, dust, welding operations, and mechanical equipment.
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and closed-toe footwear. Preferred Skills Experience with Cummins Onan or similar RV generators.
Basic 12V and 120V electrical knowledge.
Experience routing fuel lines and exhaust systems.
Welding or fabrication experience is a plus but not required.
