An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

Job Description
SUMMARY:
Senior Superintendent- ElectricalESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reviewing the Electrical Energization Safety Program with the electrical contractor and commissioning authority
- Organizing and scheduling safety meetings before specific sites are energized
- Compliance analysis of all field hands in an energized setting
- Work based on NFPA 70E, OSHA, or an accepted qualified electrical safety training standard.
- Reviewing craft labor and sub-contractor AHA's.
- Confirming receipt of rigorous lock out tag out protocols
- Tracking and confirming all required QA/QC is complete and documentation has been submitted.
- Reviewing the daily Pre-Task Plan for energization activities.
- Implementing daily safety briefing for pre work for on field daily tasks
- Confirming all pre-energization steps have been completed.
- Daily sites walks with energizing staff
- Performing end-of-day walks to ensure all equipment and hot points are secure and safe
- Confirming adequate signage and barriers are installed for electrical rooms and spaces with energized equipment.
- Confirming an adequate access control plan is in place for electrical rooms and spaces with energized equipment.
- Develop and maintain master energization schedule
- Enforce LOTO Procedures
- Develop a safe and secure energy isolation plan
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
BA/BS + 5
years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education- Able to understand the safe installation of electrical equipment and various voltages, equipment types, and AC/DC systems
- Knowledge of pressurized mechanical lines, compressed gas and air.
- Experience in construction and electrical commissioning standards and practices.
- Experience communicating complex technical solutions and concepts to engineers and non-engineers.
- Ensure audit site practices against written standards as part of assurance role.
- Ability to Interpret line drawings and system redundancies to ensure design of LOTO systems are 100% effective and in compliance with customer standards.
