Job Description We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to take ownership of plant electrical systems — from 110V branch circuits through 480V three-phase power distribution. This role is focused on the power side of the plant: distribution panels, motor circuits, transformers, feeders, and service equipment. You will be the go-to expert for plant electrical infrastructure, working alongside a maintenance team that is strong in automation and controls. This is a hands-on role for a journeyman-level electrician who knows their way around a manufacturing plant's electrical backbone and can troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, and expand it safely and to code.

Primary Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant electrical distribution systems: panels, breakers, disconnects, transformers, feeders, and branch circuits from 110V single-phase through 480V three-phase.

Perform motor circuit work:

motor starters, contactors, overloads, MCC buckets, and motor replacement/rewiring for production equipment including mixers, conveyors, vibrators, and hydraulic systems. Run conduit, pull wire, and terminate to NEC code for new equipment installations and plant expansions. Lead electrical scope on new equipment installs and commissioning, working with one or two helpers. Diagnose power quality issues, voltage imbalance, ground faults, and intermittent electrical failures. Perform load calculations and evaluate circuit capacity for equipment additions. Maintain and update panel schedules, one-line diagrams, and electrical documentation. Follow lockout/tagout, arc flash, and all electrical safety practices; maintain PPE compliance per

NFPA 70E.

Provide emergency/unscheduled electrical repairs during production and perform scheduled electrical maintenance during machine service windows. Support the maintenance team on VFDs, sensors, and control wiring as needed (our current team is well-versed in controls — this is a supporting duty, not the core of the job).

Required Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum 5-8 years of industrial/commercial electrical experience

•, manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Journeyman Electrician license (Utah or reciprocal state) strongly preferred; will consider equivalent verifiable industrial experience. Demonstrated experience with 480V three-phase power distribution, motor circuits, and industrial service equipment. Strong working knowledge of the NEC and

NFPA 70E

arc flash safety requirements. Proficient in conduit bending (EMT and rigid), wire pulling, and code-compliant terminations. Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and electrical schematics.

Experience with electrical test equipment:

megohmmeters, clamp meters, multimeters, and thermal imaging a plus. Familiarity with VFDs, motor control systems, PLCs, and industrial sensors a plus (not required — controls support is available in-house). Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and skid loaders. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear communication with production teams and management. Must speak English fluently and be comfortable with basic email and workplace communication. Leadership experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Exposure to seasonal temperature extremes, inside and out. Ability to work at heights exceeding 50 ft (ladders, lifts) and in confined positions under equipment. Prolonged standing, repetitive movement, bending, and twisting. Lift/move/transport items up to 75 pounds. Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, and airborne particles. Wear all required PPE, including arc-rated clothing where applicable. Work outside of normal business hours occasionally, sometimes on short notice.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday with occasional weekends (Schedule subject to change)

Pay:

$30.00 - $42.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
