Electrician Job Description This role focuses on tenant fit-out projects, installing and troubleshooting electrical systems in commercial spaces. You will perform hands-on electrical work, including wiring and installing outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and circuit breakers in a construction environment. Responsibilities Install electrical systems for tenant fit-out projects in commercial buildings. Install and wire outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and circuit breakers according to project specifications and electrical codes. Perform electrical troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues with wiring, fixtures, and other components. Read and interpret basic construction and electrical plans to complete installations accurately. Work safely on active construction sites, following all safety procedures and guidelines. Collaborate with other trades and site personnel to ensure smooth progress of tenant fit-out work. Inspect completed electrical work to verify proper operation and compliance with standards. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with electrical system installation in commercial construction settings. Proficiency in installing and wiring outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and circuit breakers. Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues in a construction environment. Strong knowledge of basic wiring methods and electrical components. Experience working on tenant fit-out projects. Ability to work effectively on active construction sites and follow safety protocols. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in commercial construction projects. Experience with tenant fit-out work from start to finish. Ability to read and understand construction and electrical drawings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Work Environment This position is based on a tenant fit-out project in Alexandria, VA, running through approximately mid-July. Work takes place on an active commercial construction site, requiring consistent adherence to safety standards and coordination with other trades. The role is hands-on and field-based, with typical construction-site conditions such as noise, dust, and the need for appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Alexandria, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
