  • Part-time, Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our dynamic veterinary team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage front desk operations efficiently. This role involves providing exceptional pet and client service, supporting veterinary procedures, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors. The position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced setting where animal welfare and client satisfaction are paramount. Responsibilities Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism. Assist veterinary staff during examinations and treatments Handle animal restraint safely and effectively to facilitate procedures such as animal catheterization, injections, or diagnostic testing. Support laboratory work by collecting samples, performing basic tests, and maintaining accurate records of results. Maintain detailed medical records, including pet histories, vaccination status, and treatment plans, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. Perform medical collections including blood draws or other sample collections while adhering to veterinary critical care standards. Foster a positive environment that promotes animal handling expertise, pet care education, and client communication. Qualifications Previous experience in veterinary assisting or related animal care roles is highly desirable. Basic understanding of AviMark Veterinary software highly desirable Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, restraint techniques, and aseptic procedures. Familiarity with laboratory procedures, medical collection techniques, and veterinary critical care protocols. Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques across various species including dogs and equines when applicable. Basic proficiency in managing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records.
