Job Description:
Description Responsible for the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures according to VFP standards. Must possess knowledge of applicable electrical codes Must have the ability to interpret engineering drawings Must provide working leadership to others in the department Must offers suggestions for products, manufacturing procedures, and documentation improvements Must interpret control prints and hook-up all controls Perform Electrician B job duties when needed Must have the ability to read blueprints with minimal assistance Must have the ability to run conduit, install wireway, wire AC units and install lighting fixtures Must have the ability to mount and hook-up transfer switches and wire generators Must have the ability to install load centers, EVC boxes, and drill holes Must be able to climb ladders Must maintain good housekeeping practices to include keeping the work area clean and neat and make sure aisles are clear of equipment, cords, tow motors, etc. Other duties as assigned Knowledge/Skills Ability to effectively present information to customers and other employees Ability to perform basic mathematical formulas Ability to understand and follow instructions given verbally, written, or in diagram form Knowledge of the occupational hazards of the electrical trade and necessary safety precautions Skill in the use and care of tools and/or equipment High school diploma or general education diploma (GED). Associate's Degree or Certificate preferred. Minimum of 5 years
