An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience Required Qualifications:
Must have high school diploma Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Must be physically able and willing to utilize respirators, SCBA bottles, fall protection or other equipment essential to the requirements of maintaining a Nuclear Power Plant including making containment entries.Preferred Qualifications:
One year of electrical work in an industrial setting and experience working with basic hand tools Electrical trade school or prior military experience Nuclear power plant experienceOther Qualifications:
Working knowledge of AC and DC circuitry as well as equipment grounding requirements. Demonstrated use of electrical repair procedures and blueprint circuit understanding. Good oral communication skills Applies basic skills and works on developing advance skills using tools and equipment Ability to resolve routine questions and problems, referring more complex issues to more experienced personnel Ability to follow standard written and oral instruction Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED Be able to lift up to 50 pounds Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014, Section 4.5.7.1 and 4.5.7.2 Education requirements: High school diploma Minimum experience for the position: Related experience 1 yr This position is part of a formal training program whereby the candidate/employee may not meet the full ANSI requirements of years of experience until the formal training program is completed.
