Founded in 2019, Everett Ship Repair offers vast ship repair capabilities from its facility in Everett, Washington, including repair, maintenance, and conversion services for any type of commercial vessels, with focus on commercial workboats and passenger vessels. With the US Navy as our neighbor, it is no secret that we are in aggressive pursuit of earning their business as we grow our footprint, skills, and profile in this market. With impressive dry-docking capacity, and an opportunity to be part of an emerging team of industry veterans and highly skilled tradesmen, ESR strives to continuously improve our repair and construction methods into efficient and reliable processes. We are now seeking an Experienced Marine Electrician , responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing marine electrical (AC/DC) and electronic systems for large and medium sized commercial vessels. What You will Do Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout and installation of electrical equipment. Install electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, feeders, coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components. Lay out wire ways, and install cable trays, and initially lay out hangers. Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance. Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical controls. Maintain, repair, test and install electrical controls and components involved with various main propulsion units. Maintain, repair, test and install electrohydraulic steering controls. May install and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices. Knowledge and understanding of the principles, techniques and practices involved in the installation, maintenance, repair, and alteration of marine electrical and electromechanical systems. Ability to detect, diagnose, maintain, and repair marine electrical systems. Perform electrical fitting installations, stud runs, cableways, controller mounts and all mounting hardware involved with marine electrical equipment. Have a solid understanding of 480 3 phase systems. Work as a member of a team demonstrating skills to adapt, interpret and problem solve. Perform other tasks as directed. What You Bring to Our Team Ability to read and interpret specifications, understand, and read drawings and blueprints and understand the contract requirements and schedule constraints. Knowledge of shipyard safety practices, vessel terminology and use of scissors and boom lifts. Ability to work in and navigate confined spaces, and indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to changing weather conditions. Able to understand and perform basic mathematics. High School Diploma or Equivalent. 3 years' experience working as a General Maintenance Worker or similar with working knowledge of Marine Electrical systems and required maintenance and repair. 2-3 years' experience working with Electrical systems. Valid WA State Driver's License. What Additional Things Would Distinguish You Marine Electrician Experience. Journeyman Electrical Card. (WA 01) with industrial experience. Working knowledge and understanding of applicable NAVSEA standard items. OSHA 10- Certification
NFPA 70 E
training. Understanding of IEEE45 Understanding of CFR as they apply to electrical installation. Certification and experience in use of forklifts and manlifts. Interest in and aptitude for taking on future crew leadership roles.
