This is not a typical new-construction electrical position. Our work primarily involves fire, water, and disaster restoration projects throughout Western Washington. The electrician will establish safe temporary power at damaged homes, evaluate existing electrical systems before re-energization, complete necessary repairs, and take ownership of assigned electrical projects from the initial site visit through inspection and reconnection. Primary Responsibilities Set up temporary electrical power at residential fire, flood, and restoration projects Evaluate residential electrical systems following fire, water, or other property damage and determine whether they can be safely re-energized Troubleshoot damaged or questionable electrical circuits, panels, service equipment, wiring, and components Perform residential electrical repairs and, when required, whole-home rewiring Pull electrical permits through applicable city, county, and state permitting portals Schedule required electrical inspections, address correction items, and coordinate final approval Coordinate utility disconnects and reconnections when required Read plans, identify project requirements, and determine the appropriate electrical scope Create accurate parts and material lists and obtain materials from local electrical supply houses Maintain clean, safe, and code-compliant job sites Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, homeowners, utilities, and other trades Company Vehicle & Field Readiness Operate a company-provided van responsibly and maintain an acceptable driving record Keep the vehicle organized and stocked with commonly needed tools, parts, and materials Plan materials and site needs in advance so scheduled work can move forward efficiently Opportunity for Growth Help shape the electrical department's field processes, standards, and material practices Participate in apprentice interviews and help train or supervise apprentices as the team grows Develop toward an electrical department lead or management position as workload and staffing expand Qualifications Active Washington State 02 Residential Electrician or 01 General Journeyman Electrician license Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Strong knowledge of the NEC and Washington requirements applicable to residential electrical work Extensive understanding of whole-home residential wiring systems Ability to independently troubleshoot and evaluate existing electrical systems Ability to complete projects from start to finish with limited supervision Experience with electrical permitting and inspection processes Ability to accurately determine required materials and create material lists Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Restoration, temporary-power, fire-damage, water-damage, administrator-license, or apprentice-supervision experience preferred Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is comfortable being handed a damaged home and taking responsibility for the electrical portion from beginning to end.
