Job Title:
Journeyman Electrician Job Description Join a growing electrical and automation company that delivers industrial and commercial solutions across the U.S. and Canada. As a Journeyman Electrician, you install, maintain, and repair electrical systems while ensuring safety, quality, and strict compliance with applicable electrical codes. You work on a variety of commercial and industrial projects, contributing to reliable power distribution and automation systems. Responsibilities Read and interpret electrical and architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan and execute installations and repairs. Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Wisconsin electrical codes. Bend and assemble conduit and pull wire across commercial and industrial job sites using appropriate tools and techniques. Test electrical circuits, equipment, and systems to verify integrity and proper operation before energizing. Install, troubleshoot, and maintain control and distribution equipment, including panels, relays, breakers, and related components. Perform thorough safety checks and maintain compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety procedures. Troubleshoot electrical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime. Document daily work activities, materials used, and test results, ensuring accurate records for each project. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other trades to coordinate work and resolve issues on site. Drive to various project locations, primarily within Wisconsin, and support multi-month contracts and programs as assigned. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience working in commercial or industrial electrical environments. Hands-on experience with industrial controls or automation systems. Active Wisconsin Journeyman Electrician license or the ability to obtain one within required timeframes. OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 certification preferred. Aerial Work Platform (AWP) certification. Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Wisconsin SPS 316. Proficiency with conduit installation, wiring, and electrical system installation practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and specifications. Experience in wiring, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and components. Valid driver's license and ability to meet Motor Vehicle Record requirements. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and project stakeholders. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in distribution or warehouse facilities. Experience supporting large-scale logistics or parcel operations such as major distribution centers. Ability to bend conduit up to one inch using a hand bender. Familiarity with warehouse and automation environments, including material handling systems. Why Work Here? Work Environment You work primarily Monday through Friday with an open schedule that varies depending on project needs. This is an over-the-road role servicing jobs throughout Wisconsin, with a preference for candidates based near the Hudson area. Contracts and programs typically run about two months in duration, and travel is a regular part of the job. You perform your work in warehouse and automation environments, including industrial and distribution facilities, where you handle conduit, wiring, and control equipment using standard electrical tools and testing instruments. The setting emphasizes safety, adherence to OSHA standards, and working around active industrial operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hudson, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
