Job Description
Structured Cabling Estimator Montgomery, AL 36117 Full-time Full-time Position Overview C2 Technology Group is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Networks Division in Montgomery, Alabama. In this role, you will be responsible for developing accurate, competitive bids for structured cabling, fiber optic, and network infrastructure projects across commercial, industrial, and institutional markets. You will work closely with our Business Development team to translate project scope into winning proposals that reflect true cost, labor, and material requirements. Key Responsibilities Review project plans, specifications, and site walk documentation to develop detailed quantity takeoffs for structured cabling, fiber optic, and network infrastructure scopes Prepare complete bid packages including material costs, labor estimates, subcontractor pricing, and project overhead Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes; maintain strong working relationships with preferred suppliers Work directly with the Preconstruction Manager to prioritize the bid pipeline, align on go/no-go decisions, and ensure estimates are delivered on schedule Coordinate with the Business Development team and Project Managers to validate scope assumptions and align estimates with field execution capabilities Track bid history, win/loss ratios, and project actuals to continuously refine pricing models Identify and clearly document scope inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications in all submitted proposals Participate in pre-bid site walks and owner/GC meetings as needed Maintain organized bid files and ensure all estimates are documented and accessible for handoff to the project team upon award Support value engineering efforts to improve project competitiveness without sacrificing quality or margin Qualifications Strong working knowledge of copper and fiber cabling systems, network infrastructure components, and associated labor standards Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and RFPs Experience using estimating software and/or Excel-based pricing models Demonstrated ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet submission deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience estimating in commercial construction, education, healthcare, or government markets Familiarity with project management handoff processes and preconstruction workflows Background in field installation or project management within the low-voltage industry What We Offer Competitive base pay commensurate with experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays 401(k) with company match A growing, dynamic organization with strong leadership and a clear growth trajectory About C2 Technology Group C2 Technology Group, a Crete United Company, is a growing low-voltage contractor that's been in business for over 20 years.
