Job Description

Estimator / Project Manager - Heavy Civil Construction We are seeking an Estimator/Project Manager to lead project delivery from pre-construction through closeout . You'll work closely with clients, engineers, and internal teams to ensure bids are competitive and execution is seamless. Successful Team Members in This Role Will… Lead the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects—from estimating and bidding through scheduling and execution Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors Submit competitive bid proposals and support business development strategy Collaborate with superintendents and field teams to maintain schedule, budget, and safety compliance Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and vendors throughout the project Monitor project performance, track progress, and manage change orders Identify and mitigate risk factors affecting scope, cost, or timelines Ensure quality standards, contract compliance, and regulatory requirements are met Maintain accurate reporting for internal leadership and client stakeholders A Day in the Life of an
Estimator/Project Manager:
Start the day reviewing bid opportunities or current project status updates Attend pre-bid walkthroughs or project site visits as needed Perform quantity takeoffs and evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotes Lead client calls or internal progress meetings Manage submittals, RFIs, and coordination with project engineers Monitor budget and prepare forecast updates Wrap up by updating bid files or project reports
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred) Minimum 4 years of experience in heavy civil construction project management and/or estimating Experience delivering paving and infrastructure projects Proficiency in estimating and project management software (e.g., Procore, HCSS, Primavera, MS Project) Strong understanding of construction means/methods, sequencing, and cost control Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
