Veterinarian Technician

Veterinary Technician Big Dog Ranch Rescue("BDRR") is a one-of-a-kind dog rescue facility where we are seeking an experienced Full-Time or Part-time Veterinary Technician/Assistant able to multitask in a high paced environment. Must be a team player and willing to learn new things with an open mind. Compensation based on experience. Duties and Responsibilities Must have a working knowledge of basic medication dosages and filling prescriptions. Must be able to place IV catheters, intubate, draw blood from legs and jugular. Possess knowledge in setting up diagnostics such as cytology, fecal, bloodwork, snap test, etc. Collect and perform analysis of fecal samples and b familiar with distinguishing different parasites, such as coccidia, rounds, hooks, whips and others. Basic knowledge of surgical procedures, setting up surgery suite, surgical site preparation and monitoring anesthesia. Set up and read heartworm, and parvo tests. Ability to give intramuscular, subcutaneous injections. Working knowledge of X-Ray and ultrasound machines. Give oral medications. Must know how to properly restrain dogs. Requirements and Qualifications 1 year of experience related to animal medical care. Certification a plus but NOT required. Must be dependable with attendance and timeliness. Must be able to work at least one weekend day. Provide compassionate care. Ability to work with staff at all levels. Ability to work under pressure and plan personal workload effectively. Must be able to work 7:00 am to 6:00 pm shift. Full-time is a minimum of 4 days per week. Part-time is 2-3 days per week This Job Is Ideal for
