Full Time Position Summary PVB Fabrications, Inc. (PVB), a direct-hire, multi-disciplined industrial construction and metal fabrication company, is seeking an entry level or early career Structural Steel Estimator to support structural steel fabrication estimating. This position is intended for a recent graduate or developing estimator who can be trained within PVB's estimating and fabrication processes. The estimator will assist with quantity takeoffs, material pricing, fabrication labor estimates, vendor quotations, bid documentation, and proposal preparation. The position will work closely with the Estimating Department, Shop Operations Manager, Project Managers, and fabrication personnel. Primary Responsibilities Review structural drawings, specifications, bills of material, and bid documents. Perform quantity takeoffs for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, plate, connections, and related materials. Prepare material pricing and fabrication labor estimates. Request and evaluate pricing from steel suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors. Assist with estimating detailing, coatings, freight, testing, and other fabrication requirements. Identify scope gaps, drawing conflicts, exclusions, and required clarifications. Prepare estimate summaries, bid documentation, and proposal information. Maintain organized estimate files, pricing records, and historical cost information. Coordinate with shop personnel regarding fabrication methods, labor requirements, equipment, production, and schedule. Participate in estimate reviews and project handoff meetings. Develop the skills necessary to support more complex fabrication and multidisciplinary estimates over time. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Previous estimating, fabrication, construction, internship, or steel industry experience is beneficial but not required. Ability to read or develop the ability to read structural drawings and specifications. Basic understanding of structural steel fabrication and construction is preferred. Strong mathematical, organizational, and analytical skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office platforms (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Ability to communicate and coordinate with vendors, project managers, and operations personnel. Willingness to learn PVB's estimating, fabrication, and proposal processes. Why Join Us?
