We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing accurate, detailed cost estimates for civil construction and roadwork projects, managing bid submissions, and ensuring thorough and responsive communication with stakeholders.
  • Job Description:
  • The Senior Estimator will:
  • Develop detailed and accurate project cost estimates for public works, roadwork, and civil engineering projects.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine project scope and risks.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand the full scope of work and ensure compliance with bid requirements.
  • Review bid proposals and perform quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Identify project risks and opportunities and provide value-engineering recommendations.
  • Submit and track RFIs (Request for Information) to ensure accurate bid submissions.
  • Prepare bid documents and ensure timely submission of bids and proposals.
  • Stay current on public works bidding opportunities and maintain strong relationships with key industry contacts and subcontractors.
  • Assist in the negotiation of contracts and manage change orders when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company standards.
  • Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in estimating for public works, roadwork, and civil construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of public bid processes, contract requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications.
  • Experience in preparing cost estimates using industry-standard software (e.g., HCSS, Bluebeam, ProEst, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a focus on delivering results.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of California public works and prevailing wage laws is a plus.
