Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare comprehensive, accurate estimates and bid packages for commercial landscape construction projects, including material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs.

Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from blueprints, specifications and civil/site plans for earthwork, hardscape, softscape, irrigation and site utilities.
Review and interpret construction drawings, MEP interfaces, geotechnical reports and contract documents to identify scope, risks and clarifications.
Develop and maintain unit pricing, cost databases and estimating templates to standardize bids and improve estimating efficiency and accuracy.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals; coordinate scopes, clarify assumptions and negotiate pricing to ensure competitive bids.
Collaborate with project managers, designers, operations and procurement to confirm constructability, schedule impacts and value engineering opportunities.
Prepare bid summaries, cost narratives, assumptions and risk registers for internal review and client presentations.
Lead pre-bid and bid-review meetings; respond to RFIs and bid clarifications during the bidding process.
Support post-bid activities including cost reconciliation, buyout assistance and lessons-learned analysis to improve future estimating accuracy.
QualificationsMinimum 5 years of estimating experience with a primary focus on landscape construction and commercial estimating.
Proven track record preparing estimates and winning commercial landscape construction bids.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, civil/site plans, specifications and mechanical/electrical/pipe (MEP) interfaces.
Skilled in detailed quantity takeoffs, unit pricing development and cost modeling; experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and advanced Excel.
Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills; able to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, designers and internal teams.
Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience; ability to mentor junior staff and manage multiple bid deadlines.
Knowledge of irrigation systems, horticulture and landscape installation practices is highly desirable.
Experience with commercial construction processes, bids, buyout and subcontractor management is a plus.
