(PTC) is a full-service telecommunications infrastructure contractor specializing in Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) construction, fiber optic installation, and network deployment. Our experienced team supports major telecom providers through high-quality construction, engineering, and maintenance services. PTC is committed to safety, operational excellence, and delivering reliable network infrastructure across the markets we serve. Position Overview The Telecommunications Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing cost estimates and proposals for fiber optic construction and telecommunications infrastructure projects. This role analyzes project plans, specifications, and scope of work to develop accurate labor, material, and equipment cost estimates for underground, aerial, and fiber installation projects. The Estimator works closely with Project Managers, Engineering teams, Program Managers, and Operations leadership to support bid preparation and ensure projects are priced competitively and accurately. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed construction cost estimates for telecommunications and fiber infrastructure projects Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and scope of work documents Estimate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor costs Develop project budgets and bid proposals Work with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and quotations Support the development of RFP and bid responses for telecom construction opportunities Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to validate assumptions and production rates Identify project risks, cost drivers, and opportunities for cost optimization Maintain estimating databases, cost history, and production benchmarks Assist with project handoff to operations teams after contract award Track bid outcomes and adjust estimating practices accordingly Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in construction estimating within telecommunications, fiber, or utility construction Strong understanding of fiber optic construction methods , including: Directional drilling (HDD) Trenching and plowing Aerial fiber installation Fiber placement and splicing Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, fiber network designs, and project specifications Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills Experience developing project budgets and cost models Preferred Qualifications Experience estimating OSP fiber network construction projects Experience working with telecom providers or infrastructure deployment programs Familiarity with estimating or project management software Experience with unit-based telecom construction pricing Knowledge of permitting, restoration, and utility coordination costs Physical Requirements Ability to work in office or remote environments Ability to travel to project sites for pre-bid walks or project review if required Why Join PTC Work on high-impact fiber infrastructure deployment projects Opportunity to support large-scale network expansion programs Competitive compensation based on experience Opportunities for advancement within construction management and program leadership Equal Opportunity Employer Pacific Tech Communications Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
