Position Overview The Construction Estimator plays a critical role in the success of our projects—from early budgeting through detailed bid analysis. This position requires precision, organization, and strong communication skills, along with the ability to manage complex scopes and maintain productive relationships with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and internal teams. You will be responsible for preparing accurate, comprehensive estimates for high-end residential projects while supporting the broader project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates and takeoffs for multi-million-dollar custom home projects Assemble, issue, and manage bid packages and subcontractor inquiries Prepare and track RFIs (Requests for Information) during the bidding process Follow up with subcontractors to ensure timely and complete bid submissions Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors to secure competitive pricing Order and distribute bid documents, ensuring accuracy and current information Maintain and update subcontractor and vendor databases Analyze bids and communicate results internally and externally Coordinate and attend job walks and site meetings as needed Maintain confidentiality of sensitive project and client information Adapt efficiently to shifting priorities, schedules, and project requirements Demonstrate consistent attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through Education, Knowledge & Skills We're looking for an estimator who is organized, proactive, and comfortable working through complex details. A solid understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and trade coordination is essential, along with the ability to clearly communicate scope and intent.
Required Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) Experience with construction estimating methods, software, and databases Strong understanding of the bidding and procurement process Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and details Ability to visualize construction means, methods, and sequencing Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Preferred Experience:
2+ years in construction estimating, project management, or construction administration Experience with high-end or complex residential projects Procore experience is a plus Field experience is a plus Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is a plus Qualifications Minimum of 2 years relevant experience (preferred) Authorized to work in the United States (required) Why Join Us?
