Estimating Assistant (Civil Construction) San Rafael, CA | In-Office LVI Engineering LVI Engineering is growing, and we're looking for a motivated Estimating Assistant with hands-on construction experience to support our estimating and project management team. If you've spent time in the field and are ready to transition into estimating—or already have estimating experience in heavy civil—this is a great opportunity to grow with a fast-paced, team-oriented company. About the Role You'll work closely with our estimators and project managers to prepare accurate, competitive bids for a wide range of heavy-civil projects, including excavation, grading, utilities, and shoring. Responsibilities Assist with quantity takeoffs and cost estimates Review plans, specs, and bid documents Solicit and track subcontractor and supplier quotes Help prepare bid packages and proposals Support project managers with budgeting and cost tracking Maintain organized project and bid files Qualifications 1-3+ years of experience in construction (field or estimating) Basic understanding of excavation, grading, or utilities Strong attention to detail and organization Ability to read construction plans (preferred) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Bluebeam and HCSS experience is a plus Team player with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn Why Join LVI Engineering Opportunity to grow into a full Estimator or Project Manager role Work on diverse and challenging heavy-civil projects Supportive, team-driven environment Competitive compensation based on experience
