Project Estimator-Santa Ana

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Stone/Tile Project Estimator with experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction management, and the ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and subcontractors. The Estimation Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. Duties Perform quantity take-offs (tile, stone) Develop detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing project plans, specifications, and other related documents. Utilize software tools such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create comprehensive estimates and manage project data efficiently. Collaborate with project managers to gather necessary information for accurate pricing and lead times. Prepare cost estimates (labor, materials, subcontractors) Prepare bid proposals and present findings to management or clients, highlighting key aspects of the estimate. Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and techniques to enhance estimating accuracy. Project close out documents. Order, label and distribute submittals. Qualifications Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience in construction estimating or project management within the stone and tile construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods. Proficiency in estimation software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid is highly desirable. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favorable outcomes in vendor agreements. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Familiarity with cost control practices and techniques within the construction sector is an advantage.
