Job Description

Estimator Trainee / Junior Estimator Restoration Construction Abatement (RCA) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy Estimator Trainee / Junior Estimator to join our growing restoration and reconstruction team in Santa Rosa, CA. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with computers, learning software, analyzing information, and solving problems. Previous estimating experience is not required. We are willing to train the right candidate in Xactimate and the insurance restoration industry. The ideal candidate is highly organized, learns software quickly, and takes pride in producing accurate work. ResponsibilitiesEstimating Create repair estimates using Xactimate Review project photos, measurements, scopes of work, and field documentation Prepare estimate revisions, supplements, and change orders Review insurance carrier estimates and identify missing scope items Maintain estimate accuracy and company estimating standards Insurance & TPA Coordination Submit estimates and supporting documentation to insurance carriers and TPAs Track estimate approvals and outstanding revisions Assist with supplement negotiations and estimate updates Maintain required documentation and communication standards Sales & Project Support Assist with converting approved estimates into signed contracts Help maximize project profitability through proper scoping and documentation Maintain estimate turnaround goals Coordinate with ownership, project managers, and the repairs team Prepare complete project handoff documentation once a project is sold Qualifications Strong computer and technology skills Fast learner with the ability to quickly learn new software Excellent attention to detail Strong organizational and time management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working with numbers, measurements, and documentation Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Experience with Xactimate is a plus but not required Construction, restoration, insurance, engineering, drafting, CAD, or analytical experience is a plus but not required Compensation & Growth Competitive pay based on experience Paid holidays Paid vacation Hands-on Xactimate training provided Career growth opportunities within a growing company We can teach estimating.
