In this role, you will be the driving force behind accurately estimating costs for glass and glazing projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Your expertise will help secure new projects, support project management teams, and contribute to the successful delivery of construction projects involving glass installations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from commercial buildings to custom architectural designs, all while leveraging your construction estimating skills in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for glass and glazing projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project requirements. Utilize estimation software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop comprehensive cost proposals. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to negotiate pricing and terms that align with project budgets and timelines. Review construction contracts, scope of work, and project schedules to ensure estimates reflect all necessary work and potential contingencies. Assist in cost control efforts throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring budgets, tracking changes, and updating estimates accordingly. Support project management teams with procurement strategies, bid analysis, and value engineering initiatives to optimize project outcomes. Maintain thorough records of all estimates, contracts, negotiations, and correspondence for future reference and audits. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on glass and glazing projects or related fields such as general construction or facade systems. Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, cost control methods, and pricing strategies. Familiarity with estimation tools including Bluebeam for document markup and HeavyBid for bid management is highly desirable. Hands-on construction site experience or construction management background that provides insight into project execution processes. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors while fostering positive relationships. Understanding of contracts, project management practices, and construction site safety standards is essential.
