This position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with an experienced senior estimator and learn the commercial construction estimating process for light gauge metal stud framing, drywall and lath/plaster from the ground up. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, eager to learn, and interested in building a long-term career in the construction industry. Previous estimating experience is not required for the right candidate. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to grow your career in construction, this is the perfect role for you! Duties Maintain organized records of all estimating documents, correspondence, and project data for future reference. Assist with preparing quantity takeoffs from construction drawings. Review plans and specifications. Organize bid documents and subcontractor/vendor information. Enter and maintain estimating data. Communicate with suppliers, contractors, and project teams. Track bid deadlines and project information. Support the estimating department with administrative and project-related tasks. Learn blueprint reading, material takeoffs, and bid preparation. Skills Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu for markup and document management. Strong negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing. Strong attention to detail. Good Organizational and time management skills. Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office). OST & Quick bid is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills. Construction experience is a plus but not required. Estimating experience is a plus but not required. Some understanding of construction estimating principles, including cost analysis and quantity takeoffs. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts accurately.
