Essential Functions:
The estimator will assist Project Mangers in all aspects of the bid/estimating process from the review of plans and specifications, estimating material cost and craft labor productivity, soliciting and negotiating prices from subcontractors/suppliers through the completion of the bid/estimating effort for a variety of water/wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
Perform detailed electrical takeoffs from: Project Specifications One Line Diagrams P&IDs Control schematics MCC and VFD schedules Lighting, grounding, and site plans
Network Diagrams Riser Diagrams Measure & Quantify:
Medium- and low-voltage distribution switchgear MCCs, VFDs, soft starters, Lighting & Power Panels Local & Vendor Control Panels PLC's, RIO's, I/O Points Instrumentation and control wiring Underground duct banks and raceways Process equipment power and control
Precast Concrete Manholes, Transformers Pad Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years construction experience estimating in water/wastewater or heavy civil industry.
- Design-build and Construction Manager at risk experience a plus
- McCormick Estimating Software experience desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) as well as use of the internet
- Have a basic understanding of all disciplines of construction & sequence of construction
- Develop relationships with General Contractors and Clients
- Identify cost associated with the General & Special Conditions
- Develop estimates that can be used to develop budgets & schedules Apply productivity factors specific to: o Complicated projects o Confined spaces o Phased shutdowns and bypass pumping o Compressed schedules
Working Conditions:
