Company vehicle provided About us We have been building and maintaining commercial landscapes since 1970. We work across Ventura County, Santa Barbara County, the Central Coast, and the San Fernando Valley for property managers, HOA boards, facilities teams, general contractors, and landscape architects. Our crews handle shopping centers, corporate campuses, housing developments, retirement communities, public works projects, and estate properties. We are a hands-on company. Our managers have been with us for decades. We are looking for someone to take over a growing share of our estimating and sales work. What you would be doing You would own the front end of our work, from the first phone call through the signed contract and the handoff to the field. Meet with property managers, HOA boards, general contractors, and landscape architects to walk sites and understand what they need Read plans and specifications, take off quantities, and build accurate cost estimates for landscape construction and maintenance work Price labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor scopes using our unit pricing structure Write clear proposals with scope, assumptions, exclusions, and alternates spelled out so there is no confusion later Follow up on bids and work through questions, revisions, and value engineering requests Track bid opportunities through industry portals, plan rooms, and GC invitations Build and maintain relationships with repeat clients, GCs, and design firms in our region Prospect for new maintenance contracts through site walks, referrals, and direct outreach Hand off won projects to our department managers with complete documentation so the field team starts with everything they need Support change order pricing and scope questions once work is underway Keep the pipeline, bid log, and client records up to date. Work with operations and accounting on job costing so we learn from every project What we are looking for Required Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, horticulture, construction management, business, or a related field. Equivalent industry experience will be considered in place of a degree Three or more years estimating, selling, or managing commercial landscape, irrigation, or site work Ability to read and interpret construction plans, landscape drawings, irrigation plans, and specifications Working knowledge of plant material, irrigation systems, hardscape, grading, and soil prep Solid math skills and comfort with takeoffs and unit pricing Comfortable with spreadsheets, estimating software, and CRM tools Clear writing. Proposals are documents clients rely on, so they need to be organized and easy to follow Experience with prevailing wage and public works bidding Valid California driver's license and a clean driving record Willing to be in the field. This job involves regular site visits across our service area Nice to have Familiarity with California water regulations and MWELO compliance Existing relationships with property management firms, HOA boards, or GCs in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties Bilingual English and Spanish Certification through the Irrigation Association or CLCA Experience with takeoff software and construction project management platforms What makes someone good at this job The people who do well here are organized, curious about how things get built, and honest about what a job actually costs.
