Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Prepare complete estimates for assigned project(s) of any size and complexity. The estimator is responsible for working with both internal customers such as project managers and other members of the estimating team, as well as external customers such as vendors, general contractors, and owners.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Four (4) year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience Two (2) to four (4) years' estimating, cost control and/or engineering experience in construction
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control, plus the ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems essential Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive and Word. Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills and provide a positive attitude with others in the workplace. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills are essential to ensure successful interactions with customers, internal partners, and external vendors.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures. Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work. Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to particular bid/project as assigned. Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimates and figures. Interface with owner, A/E, and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility. Follow awarded contracts as assigned

Attend meetings as a member of the preconstruction team to collaborate and find effective methods to secure new work Meet with clients and customers to develop, build, and grow professional relationships to benefit Duro Electric Participate in interviews with clients to win new business Locate commuting will be expected to participate in required job walks, industry events, and meet with clients as necessary Prior to submitting bid packages to customers, will be responsible for meeting and reviewing bid documentation with the President and/or the Pre-Con department head. Strong experience with preconstruction software including but not limited to Accubid, Primavera, Livecount Cloud, Bluebeam, and Navisworks. Strong command of NEC code will be required. Perform additional duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current CO Journeyman Wireman license

Current valid driver's license required
