Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our commercial construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing & creating blueprints and technical drawings, and collaborating closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers. Your expertise will ensure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards, enabling us to deliver projects on time and within budget. Duties Create, review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs. Develop comprehensive project estimates using estimating software and other construction management tools. Prepare detailed cost proposals, including material costs, labor, equipment, subcontractor bids, and overhead expenses. Collaborate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors through negotiation to secure favorable pricing and terms. Manage multiple project estimates simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, review construction site experience requirements, and verify project scope. Monitor project budgets during execution to ensure cost control and effective cost management throughout the construction process. Review contracts, change orders, and scope modifications to update estimates accordingly. Skills Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Strong proficiency in estimating software. Expertise in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans accurately. Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors. Solid understanding of construction management software tools for project planning and tracking. Knowledge of construction site safety standards and experience working on or around active job sites. Ability to estimate costs effectively for materials like concrete, steel, finishes, and other building components. Familiarity with contracts management including scope review, change orders, and cost control measures. Strong communication skills for client interaction, presenting estimates clearly and confidently. Pay:
