Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates, analyzing blueprints and technical drawings, and managing budgets for Traffic Signals and ITS Infrastructure construction projects. Your expertise will help ensure our projects are financially successful while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Responsibilities Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs. Utilize estimating software such as McCormick, Info Tech, and other construction management tools to develop detailed cost proposals. Conduct thorough material cost estimating and pricing analysis to ensure competitive bids while maintaining profitability. Manage project budgets by tracking costs, controlling expenses, and adjusting estimates as needed throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams through effective negotiation to secure favorable terms and pricing. Review contracts, scope of work documents, and construction drawings to identify potential risks or discrepancies early in the process. Monitor ongoing projects for cost control measures, ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules. Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and new estimating techniques to continuously improve accuracy and efficiency. Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years in Construction Industry (Traffic Signal Installation, Infrastructure, or Electrical preferred)
- Strong interest in infrastructure projects - roads, bridges, earthwork, utilities
- Preferred experience working with CDOT
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and be adaptable to changing assignments
