Construction Estimator

We have a direct hire opening for a Construction Estimator in Sedalia with a steel contractor that fabricates structural steel and miscellaneous metal components for commercial and industrial construction projects. In this role, you will review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents, analyze project costs, and prepare detailed bids for structural steel fabrication and installation projects. You will perform quantity takeoffs, identify project scope, and build estimates that include materials, shop labor, and field labor using the company's estimating process and Tekla/PowerFab software. You will also review bids with Project Managers and support project handoffs by communicating project scope and estimate details as projects move into fabrication and installation. The company operates a fast-paced steel fabrication environment and works closely with General Contractors, detailers, subcontractors, fabrication teams, and field operations throughout the estimating and preconstruction process. Analyze and compile cost data to ensure high-quality bids Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents for structural steel projects Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed bids using the company's estimating format Develop competitive bids using Tekla/PowerFab software Build estimates that include materials, shop labor, and field labor Review bids with Project Managers and support project handoffs Communicate with General Contractors, subcontractors, detailers, vendors, and internal teams throughout the estimating process Manage multiple bids and projects at the same time while maintaining organization and accuracy Job Requirements of the

Experience estimating structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong computer skills with the ability to use or learn Tekla/PowerFab software Knowledge of AISC and AWS standards preferred Highly organized with strong time management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently Ability to manage and balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
