Job Description

Our Client is seeking an HVAC Estimator to develop accurate cost projections for commercial mechanical projects. This role supports bid preparation and pricing strategy by analyzing project requirements, materials, and labor to produce competitive proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed estimates for plan/spec and design-build HVAC projects Review drawings and specifications to determine labor, material, and cost requirements Perform takeoffs and input data using estimating software (e.g., QuickPen/Trimble AutoBid) Develop proposals and scope documentation for bid submissions Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to define project scope Maintain cost databases, estimating logs, and pricing benchmarks Build relationships with vendors and subcontractors to support accurate pricing Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings as needed
Qualifications:
5+ years of HVAC estimating experience in commercial projects Proficiency with QuickPen Trimble AutoBid or similar estimating tools Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, construction practices, and local codes Ability to interpret construction documents and specifications Solid analytical, organizational, and communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Degree in engineering, construction management, or related experience preferred Experience with electrical estimating or CHP systems is a plus
