Job Description

Estimator - Commercial Construction Connecticut $110,000 - $165,000 DOE + ESOP + 401(k) + Benefits An established Connecticut general contractor and construction management firm is looking to add an experienced Estimator to its preconstruction team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator who enjoys getting involved early in the project lifecycle rather than simply pricing completed drawings. Approximately 80% of the company's work is negotiated, with the estimating team working alongside owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and vendors from early conceptual and schematic design through design development, GMP and construction. The Role You will work across a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects, including: Multifamily and mixed-use developments Healthcare and medical facilities Financial institutions Municipal and community projects Nonprofit and institutional facilities Places of worship Other private commercial developments Projects can range from approximately $10M-$30M+ , with multifamily developments ranging from roughly 30 to 300 units.
Responsibilities will include:
Developing conceptual and schematic estimates from limited design information Preparing and maintaining budgets throughout design development Developing GMP pricing Working directly with owners, architects and engineers Soliciting and communicating with subcontractors and vendors Evaluating scopes, pricing and constructability Producing budget comparisons and variance analysis Identifying value-engineering opportunities Creating clear narratives around assumptions and incomplete scopes Helping guide projects from initial concept through contract award Working collaboratively with the existing estimating and preconstruction team Compensation & Benefits $110,000 - $160,000 base salary , depending on experience Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) 401(k) Strong health and welfare benefits Employee contribution of approximately 25% toward healthcare Bonus opportunities Paid holidays Minimum two weeks' vacation from year one Flexibility to recognize existing vacation entitlement for experienced hires Why Join? Pay:
$110,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
