Estimator Verdi is a general contractor and heavy civil contractor. Estimator is responsible for estimating multiple building construction projects as well as self-perform heavy civil/site work projects at one time. This position will report directly to the President at Verdi Construction. Required Skills Receive bid documents. Organize bid documents. Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimate for projects. Understand requirements for Verdi's self-perform work, understand sub and suppliers scope of work within any self-perform packages. Distribute bid documents for vendor pricing. Collect and quickly analyze bid proposals from vendors. Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for material and labor to establish a value for the work. Be able to estimate, award, and procure as necessary. Prepare bid spreadsheets for building construction and heavy civil/site work projects. Prepare high quality written bid proposals. Produce logistics plans, access plans, initial schedules, etc. Understand manpower and work with field managers to understand maximum productivity. Visit sites at specific times to record progress, construction methods, and field conditions/logistics, report back on best practices. Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimate for projects. Effectively facilitate collaboration amongst team members. Adheres to company safety policies including subcontract and insurance requirements and performing weekly safety Perform buyout review. Required Experience 5 - 10 years' experience in the commercial construction industry as a Superintendent/Project Manager role. Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field. Subcontractor experience in heavy civil/site work, concrete, labor and heavy equipment. Field management experience, including labor production, metrics tracking, and planning and communication. Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Proficient in Estimating software, Project Management software (Procore or similar), and Scheduling software.
