• Full-time Job Overview Small family own underground utility company is seeking a estimator that has experience quoting sitework and underground utilities.

We offer salary pay, insurance, and paid time off. We usually work M-T 10 hrs days and off Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please call for an interview. Responsibilities Develop detailed and precise cost estimates for construction projects by reviewing plans, specifications, and contract documents. Utilize estimating software such as Bluebeam to prepare comprehensive bids and proposals. Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs, material pricing, labor cost analysis, and subcontractor negotiations to ensure accurate project budgeting. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to refine project scope, identify potential risks, and establish competitive pricing strategies. Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process and adjust estimates as needed to maintain profitability. Assist in contract negotiations by providing detailed cost breakdowns and supporting documentation. Support cost control efforts during project execution by tracking expenses, managing change orders, and ensuring adherence to budget constraints. Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction methods and materials. Proficiency with estimating tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam is highly desirable. Solid knowledge of construction site operations, project management principles, and contract administration. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate clearly with vendors, subcontractors, and clients. Strong analytical skills for accurate quantity takeoffs, pricing strategies, and cost control measures. Construction site experience is preferred to better understand on-the-ground realities impacting estimates. Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
