Job Description

Position Summary Exquisite Pool & Spa is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Pool Construction Estimator to support the sales, estimating, and construction operations of our swimming pool and outdoor living projects. This position is responsible for developing accurate project estimates, analyzing construction costs, reviewing plans and specifications, and helping ensure projects are priced competitively while maintaining appropriate margins. The ideal candidate has strong construction estimating skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to understand the relationship between project scope, material costs, labor, subcontractors, and overall profitability. Experience in pool construction, landscaping, hardscaping, or residential construction is highly preferred. Estimating & Takeoffs Review pool designs, construction plans, specifications, and project scopes Prepare detailed estimates for swimming pools, spas, decks, patios, retaining walls, landscaping, water features, equipment, and related outdoor living projects Calculate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, permitting, and other project costs Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing Identify potential cost risks, omissions, and scope gaps before proposals are finalized Prepare accurate customer proposals and internal project budgets Update estimates as project designs or scopes change Construction & Operations Support Work closely with sales, design, project management, purchasing, and construction teams Assist project managers with budget reviews and change-order pricing Review project scopes to ensure estimating assumptions are clearly documented Support purchasing by providing accurate material quantities and specifications Participate in post-project reviews to improve estimating accuracy and operational efficiency Qualifications 2+ years of experience in construction estimating, cost analysis, or a related field Pool construction experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and subcontracted trades Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications Strong mathematical and analytical skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments Preferred Qualifications Experience estimating swimming pools, spas, outdoor kitchens, patios, landscaping, or hardscaping Experience with construction estimating or project management software Knowledge of pool equipment, plumbing, electrical, excavation, structural steel, concrete, and finish materials Familiarity with local building codes and permitting requirements Experience analyzing job-cost reports and construction financial data Understanding of construction production rates and labor costing This position is an important part of maintaining the company's financial and operational success.
