In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing detailed estimates, and supporting the bidding process to secure new projects. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam. Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing information and negotiate favorable terms. Prepare detailed cost breakdowns covering labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs to ensure precise budgeting. Review and interpret contracts, scope of work, and technical drawings to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost control. Support the bidding process by preparing proposals that reflect competitive pricing while safeguarding profit margins. Assist in tracking project costs during execution to monitor budget adherence and implement necessary adjustments for cost control. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction estimating best practices, market trends, and material prices to ensure accurate and competitive estimates. Skills Proficiency in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors. Solid understanding of construction estimating processes, cost control measures, and pricing strategies. Hands-on construction site experience coupled with a deep understanding of construction management principles. Knowledge of contracts, project management methodologies, and construction law fundamentals. Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail for accurate cost assessment and risk mitigation. Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and present clear estimates.
