Automotive Evaluator CAS Automotive Group - 4.7 Miami, FL Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Market analysis Decision making Productivity software Full Job Description CAS Miami is seeking an experienced automotive Evaluator to assess vehicles, determine accurate purchase values, and support the company's vehicle acquisition strategy. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in automotive buying, insurance total-loss evaluation, salvage auctions, or junk/parts vehicle purchasing. The Evaluator will analyze vehicle conditions, market trends, auction data, and profitability metrics to generate competitive offers while helping maintain efficient inventory purchasing practices. The ideal candidate has strong automotive market knowledge, understands how vehicle history and condition impact value, and is confident making fast, informed purchasing decisions. Duties & Responsibilities Review vehicle information, photos, VIN history, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. Evaluate vehicles using wholesale market data, auction trends, MMR, AutoCheck, and comparable sales. Generate and approve vehicle purchase offers based on company profitability goals. Assess salvage, damaged, mechanical, and high-mileage vehicles for resale, dismantling, or parts value potential. Communicate with buyers, sellers, auctions, insurance partners, and internal teams regarding valuations and deal structure. Approve or reject additional charges related to vehicle purchases and transportation. Monitor market conditions and identify pricing trends that may impact vehicle acquisition strategy. Assist in maintaining and managing auction and purchased vehicle inventory. Recommend process improvements and technology enhancements to improve evaluation accuracy and operational efficiency. Collaborate with internal departments to support purchasing and remarketing operations. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of vehicle valuation and automotive market trends. Experience evaluating salvage, damaged, auction, junk, or parts vehicles preferred. Familiarity with appraisal and valuation tools such as MMR, AutoCheck, auction historical sales, and VIN reporting platforms. Strong analytical and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple evaluations simultaneously. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and automotive software systems. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Preferred Background Candidates with experience in one or more of the following are highly encouraged to apply: Automotive buying or vehicle acquisitions Insurance adjusting or total-loss vehicle evaluation Salvage or wholesale auto auctions Junk car or parts car purchasing Dealership appraisal or used car buying operations Education & Experience Associate degree preferred, but not required. Equivalent work experience will be considered. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in automotive purchasing, vehicle appraisal, insurance vehicle evaluation, or auction operations preferred.
