Job Description
Job Description The Construction Project Estimator will gather, evaluate, and then prepare detailed total cost-effectiveness for and during the construction bid process. They may visit construction sites to gather information and analyze proposals, specifications, blueprints, and construction document in order to understand the project. Estimators work closely with the project managers to coordinate and oversee the vendors and/or subcontractors in the bid process. They determine the time, labor, materials, and product costs for the project and communicate the requirements to the clients. An estimator works mainly in an office environment but may visit construction sites occasionally as needed to obtain necessary information.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates should have 1-3 years of experience with a background in estimating large scale for Institutional, Multifamily, and Hospitality construction for both commercial and residential projects. Develop project estimates with attention to specialty trade finish carpentry, doors and frames, bathroom specialties, postal specialties, and/or similar specialty trades. Review blueprints, plans, and specifications in order to understand the project as a whole and then prepare detailed estimate, and/or provide detailed estimate with noted assumptions. Estimate time, labor, construction materials, and product costs to determinate the overall cost for projects. Prepare written proposals, cost estimates, budgets, and updates for clients and the projects managers. Provide all subcontractors with drawings and specifications prior to the bid process. Critical thinking skills with ability to problem solve and make effective decisions. Strong math skills and above average computer skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously using good time management skills. Above average written and verbal communication skills needed.Requirements:
Fully Bilingual Required (English and Spanish) Experience with StackCT, Esticom, OnScreen take off software or similar is a plus Use of Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud is a plus. Degree in construction management, estimating, architecture, engineering, or related field experience is a plus. Proficient in MS Office with a focus on Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.Pay:
