This person should be autonomous, client-facing, and capable of managing the estimating process with limited supervision. I have included the full description below. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and other bid documents. Utilize industry-standard estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed cost proposals. Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis for various construction scopes. Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors to gather competitive bids and negotiate terms. Manage bid submission processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process and provide insights on cost control strategies. Assist in contract negotiations and review contractual obligations related to project estimates. Support project management teams with cost forecasting, value engineering, and risk assessments. Stay current with industry trends, material costs, labor rates, and regulatory requirements affecting construction estimating. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management principles. Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software tools. Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, pricing strategies, and contract review within the construction industry. Solid knowledge of construction site operations, safety standards, and cost control methods. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate quantity takeoffs and cost analysis. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Construction site experience is preferred to enhance understanding of field conditions impacting estimates. This role is vital for ensuring the financial success of our projects through precise estimation and strategic planning.
