Orlando, FL Job Overview APL Site Development is seeking an experienced Sitework Estimator to analyze project plans, assess site conditions, and prepare accurate cost estimates for underground utility construction and sitework projects. This role is essential to securing competitive bids and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, and suppliers to develop precise budgets and successful proposals for commercial, residential and industrial projects. Key Responsibilities Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports to determine project requirements. Perform accurate quantity take-offs, measuring and calculating materials and resources such as pipe, fittings, and excavation volumes. Utilize Agtek software to produce detailed estimates. Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers, evaluate quotes, and negotiate favorable terms. Prepare comprehensive bid packages, including cost breakdowns and supporting documentation, for client submission. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure timely and accurate estimates. Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies during the estimating process. Maintain and update cost databases, subcontractor lists, and other key estimating records. Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in civil construction utility estimating or a related field. Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, and Agtek. Strong understanding of underground utility systems, construction methods, and industry standards. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities. Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team. High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training preferred.
