SENIOR ESTIMATOR/PROJECT MANAGER JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Estimator and Project Manager will primarily be responsible for project due diligence and construction monitoring. The function will oversee construction projects from estimating and pre-construction through completion and will be accountable for overall profit and loss for each project managed.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Meet with General Contractors to develop new leads and relationships, discuss upcoming opportunities, and secure bid projects commitments, contracts and/or letter of intent. Review relevant project documents, including drawings, specifications, addenda, and correspondence from the Architect and General Contractor. Complete estimating and RFI take-offs for each material category (Interior & Exterior framing, drywall, acoustical ceiling tile, FRP, painting, finish, texturing, and EFIS) to determine types and quantities required to meet project requirements and specifications. Recap materials into separate reports by material category and specific details to be sent to individual manufacturers representatives for project specific quotes and/or discount structures. Complete summary recaps to show overall cost for each material type, labor and any applicable taxes and contingency costs Manage and evaluate pre-construction contracts, budgets, schedules, project needs and requirements. Visit and evaluate prospective sites, locations, and surrounding conditions. Evaluate project plans, design, and specifications and recommend revised actions when appropriate. Provide technical advice to junior project managers & estimators. Evaluate, negotiate, and approve change order requests. Monitor construction progress against projections. Ensure material and cost status updates are timely and accurate. Coordinate processes with the field operations and project management team to ensure the delivery of material and project is on time and within budget. Ensure established project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards are within the boundaries of company policy and contract specifications. Represent the company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings as required. Establish work priorities, remain organized, meet deadlines, and maintain detailed correspondence while working on multiple projects. Provide timely material updates and critical issue reporting on all projects to the management team. Manage & Supervise entry level personnel including entry level estimators & project managers. Other job duties and responsibilities, as needed.
MIMINUM QUALIFICTIONS REQUIRED
Proficient in OST/QBid takeoff and estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and Word. (7+ years experience) Knowledgeable in metal framing and drywall installation scopes of work, design, and requirements. (7+ years experience) Strong sense of big picture as it relates to construction projects. (7+ years experience) Strong background in development, administration, and management of multiple construction projects. (7+ years experience) Ability to review construction drawings and analyze the engineering aspect of construction when required. (7+ years experience) Able to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to customers and team members. (7+ years experience) Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Management, co-workers, and customers. (7+ years experience) 7+ years of experience of proven success in preconstruction, estimating, & project management, cost analysis and scope review of large construction projects (at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role) plus a Bachelors degree in a construction related field of study. Proven ability to lead and motivate teams. (7+ years experience) Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and goals. (7+ years experience) Excellent organizational and communication skills (7+ years experience) Analyze information and evaluate problems. (7+ years experience) Ability to learn and follow our extensive company safety policy. (7+ years experience) Work safely with all members of the crew (7+ years experience) Willingness to travel, with frequent overnight stays. (15% domestic travel)
