Godfrey Electric Inc is looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to estimate Commercial construction projects in Palm Beach, Martin and St Lucie County. This is a salary based position. The Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for large residential homes, commercial, and institutional electrical construction projects throughout Southeast Florida. This individual needs to be able to lead the estimating process from takeoff through bid submission. They will need to work closely with project management to help kick off the job when a contract is received. Communication with existing and new clients will be imperative to maintain strong business relationships. Key Responsibilities Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope and identify potential risks. Perform quantity takeoffs using industry-standard estimating software. We us McCormick Systems. Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations. Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontract pricing. Analyze value engineering opportunities and recommend cost-saving alternatives. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits prior to bid date. Prepare conceptual budgets and design-build estimates from limited drawings. Maintain historical cost databases and estimating standards. Assist with project handoff to operations after award. Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, suppliers, and subcontractors. Assist project management team with large change order estimates Required Qualifications 4+ years of electrical estimating experience in commercial or institutional construction.

Strong knowledge of:

National Electrical Code (NEC), Electrical construction methods, South Florida building practices & local municipalities and utility requirements Proficiency with: McCormick Systems, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Office Suite Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
