Job Description

Position Summary The Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for custom luxury residential electrical projects. This position works closely with project managers, field personnel, vendors, and clients to ensure complete project scopes, accurate budgets, and successful project handoffs. The ideal candidate has extensive experience estimating high-end residential electrical projects and is proficient with the McCormick Estimating System. Key Responsibilities Prepare complete and accurate electrical estimates for custom luxury residential projects. Review architectural, electrical, lighting, and low-voltage plans and specifications. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and labor calculations. Develop material pricing through supplier quotations and vendor relationships. Utilize the McCormick Estimating System to prepare detailed bids and proposals. Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities. Coordinate with project managers to ensure seamless turnover from estimating to construction. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings when required. Maintain organized estimating files and historical cost data. Stay current with labor costs, material pricing, and industry trends. Assist management with budgeting, forecasting, and bid strategy. Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of electrical estimating experience. Extensive experience estimating high-end residential electrical projects. Proficiency with the McCormick Estimating System is required. Strong understanding of residential electrical systems, lighting controls, generators, custom homes, service installations, and luxury residential construction. Ability to interpret architectural and electrical construction documents. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications Previous field experience in high-end residential electrical construction strongly preferred. Journeyman or Master Electrician background. Experience with Bluebeam Revu or similar digital takeoff software. Knowledge of NEC requirements and residential electrical codes. Experience working with luxury home builders, architects, and designers. Desired Characteristics Detail-oriented and highly organized. Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.
