Project Estimator

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team and oversee the preparation of cost estimates for construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to build accurate estimates that align with project goals. This role requires excellent negotiation skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of construction management practices. Responsibilities Lead the estimating team in preparing detailed cost estimates for various construction projects. Collaborate with project managers and the owner to understand project requirements and scope. Utilize software tools to analyze plans, specifications, and other documents for accurate pricing. Conduct thorough reviews of bid documents and contracts to ensure compliance with project specifications. Develop and maintain cost control processes to monitor project budgets effectively. Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive bids while maintaining quality standards. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators, fostering a collaborative team environment. Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and labor costs to ensure accurate estimates. Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of project management principles. Familiarity with construction management practices and experience working on construction sites. Proficiency in using software for takeoffs and estimating purposes. Strong analytical skills with the ability to build comprehensive cost estimates based on project specifications. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations. Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
