Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Sitework Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs related to civil site development projects, including earthwork, grading, drainage, paving, storm & sewer, and utility installation. Your expertise will help ensure project bids are competitive yet profitable, supporting the successful delivery of commercial, industrial, mixed-use, multi-family, and residential construction projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with skilled professionals, and contribute to building infrastructure that makes a difference. Responsibilities Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine project scope and requirements. Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil sitework components using estimating software such as HeavyBid, AgTek, BlueBeam, and other construction management tools. Analyze material costs, labor rates, equipment needs, and subcontractor quotes to develop accurate project budgets. Manage multiple estimation projects simultaneously while ensuring timely submission of bids. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms. Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and design teams to refine estimates and align project expectations. Utilize Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup, ensuring all project details are accurately captured and incorporated into estimates. Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process and provide insights on cost control strategies. Review construction contracts and manage the estimation process in accordance with client specifications and industry standards. Maintain organized spreadsheets and documentation for all estimates, ensuring transparency and ease of review. Qualifications Proven 3+ year's experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the civil or commercial construction industry. Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, AgTek, BlueBeam, and other construction management tools. Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately. Solid understanding of construction drawing review, material requirements estimation from blueprints, and cost management techniques. Familiarity with Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup processes. Demonstrated negotiation skills with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to achieve optimal pricing. Experience in managing construction project budgets, cost control measures, and estimating material requirements. Knowledge of contracts, project management principles, and construction site safety practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for detailed analysis and reporting. Construction site experience is highly desirable to better understand field conditions impacting estimates.
